This post took us as a while as we wrap up wedding season but here it is! The Oscars did not disappoint when it came to absolute, in your face, glittering glamour and dazzle on the red carpet. Two interesting observations from the show, an absolute lack of dresses with straps or shoulders and metallic is back with a vengeance!

Jane Fonda looked absolutely smashing in that dazzling yellow Versace gown!

 Reese Witherspoon is a dream in this Louis Vuitton gown with a train.

 Nominee Jessica Chastain looked like the Oscar trophy herself in this Armani Prive gown.

 Our favourite look of the evening, Jennifer Lawrence in this billowing and beautiful Dior Couture gown. She also won Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook!

Naomi Watts rocked the metallic look in this slinky, sequinned Armani gown.
